Privacy Policy

The laws regarding the protection of your data have changed dramatically and for the better. As we deal with both your information, and that of your children we aim to be as open and as transparent as possible.

What we need

Dance Off is what is known as the ‘Controller’ of the personal data you provide to us. We take your privacy seriously and will only use personal information about you and your child to provide the services you have requested from us and administer your account.

We collect personal data from you in order to be able to deliver the Services and Programmes you have requested. This includes you or/and your child’s name and address, you or your child’s date of birth to allow us to provide the service requested.

In addition we will with your consent, seek permission to collect further detail on specific medical and relevant health-care details and history necessary to ensure the welfare and safety of you or your child.

Why we need your data

We need this personal data in order to provide you with our services and enter into a contract with you. We will not collect any personal data from you we do not need in order to provide and oversee this service to you.

Who we share your data with

We share your data with any third party companies who help us in processing the data in hosting the website and companies who process payments on our behalf. No other 3rd parties have access to your personal data unless the law allows them to do so. We have a Data Protection regime in place to oversee the effective and secure processing of your personal data.

Data Security

All our data is hosted on servers in the United Kingdom. These servers are protected by firewall technology and our website using encrypted SSL technology to prevent any information being intercepted when bookings are made.

Why we would prefer you opt-in to our communications

When booking for the first time we would prefer you opt-in so that we can tell you about any offers or when rebooking time comes around. Our classes can be very full and have waiting lists, so we would rather we make sure you know when it’s time to rebook. If you choose not to opt-in we will announce rebooking schedules at class and on our Social Media platforms.

On re-booking we will ask you to opt-in again. This is an expanded option where we want to share more details about our other offerings, special offers at the shop, and in the future to share learning tips that are catered to specific developmental learning points in your child’s journey. Again, these offers will be made available elsewhere but by opting-in you get to see them without having to look for them.

All offer’s or information will only be from Playball. We will never sell or share your data with others without your consent and your decision to do so unless required by applicable law or pursuant to a court or similar order.

Your rights

You can withdraw your consent at any time. Simply email us and we will confirm when we have done this. If you wish a copy of all information held, please let us know. If you believe we are processing your personal data not in accordance with the law you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

How long do we keep hold of your information

We will keep your or your child’s personal data for as long as they continues to dance with Dance Off, and for the period of time afterwards required by the relevant statutory and legislative guidelines that apply. More information on our retention policies can be found by contacting us directly at the addresses given below.

Data Breach

All companies and the GDPR acknowledge that data breaches can and do occur. Dance Off has processes and controls put in place to minimise the possibility of a breach, but also when there is a breach to minimise the impact and to ensure that those affected are kept informed. Our policy to communicate a breach is available on request.

Multiple controllers

Within your relationship with Dance Off, you will interact with several Data Controllers. This is not unusual or unique to us and they include the specialist companies that perform certain functions for us such as taking payment or running the class booking system.

We have contracts with each of these companies and review their policies and procedures on a very regular basis to ensure they are compliant with data protection law. They will only ever act on our specific requirements and instructions. Should you wish to know more about this please get in touch.
